So Long Surf

One last session was to be had at Holland State Park this past Saturday, January 19th. An icy WNW blew in on Sunday making it almost unbearable to stay out more than 30 minutes. That evening the ice set in and this is what we will be looking at for awhile.

Art of Shred

The Art of Shred - Justin Bruursema / Burly Surfboards from Antix Media on Vimeo.

This is the brainchild of Marc Moline, an exploration into the craft of adventure sport. He put a ton into it, and wove together the story of Burly Surfboards. Many thanks Marc, and amazing work!

Halloween Surfing on Lake Michigan from Marc Moline on Vimeo.

This board was shaped for my buddy Marc, and he has been ripping it up on what Sandy sent our way.

Seagull

6'7" x 22" x 3" I have been thinking about this board for a couple years now and finally made time to shape and finish it. Flat belly rolling into a pronounced V out the tail. Harder rails, throwback to the Lopez Lightening Bolt days.

The Rainbow Session

It's a rare thing when the wind goes off shore on the lakes, and the swell continues to pump in. It's even more rare for a double rainbow to appear three different times throughout a session. The only things that could be expected were the big smiles and disbelief of what we were seeing and surfing. Photo credit goes to Marc Moline.
